RAMADAN DAY - SARAH
Saturday, 14th of August: we decide to do Ramadan on Sunday. But why? Because I’m not Muslim, so it can seem strange… I just decide to fast one day because I was always wondering: what can you feel when you fast? And what does it mean in this religion? Of course for me it doesn’t have a religious meaning, but I think that it’s interesting to have this experience here, in Turkey, where a lot of people are Muslim and where you can feel that the life is a bit different during one month…

«System and Generation» is more than a youth organization: it’s a unique experience one should have in his lifetime. Indeed, since it undoubtedly combines conviviality and concrete actions, «system and generation» offers an ideal framework in order to foster youth creativity. Not only it stimulates youngsters’ creativity in very diverse fields, but it also contributes to empower them as citizens by giving them the opportunity to elaborate many projects whom impact on society blows like a refreshing and hopeful wind of change. By this way, volunteers become aware of their positive potential as active agent of development within different levels: locally, regionally and globally. Indeed, the organisation can rely on several partnerships in Europe, Caucasus and in the Mediterranean region; this huge networking reflects one of «system and generation» main preoccupation which is to build bridges in order to overcome prejudices by encouraging intercultural dialogue.

A Practical Guide to the EU's Impact to Turkish Daily Life Published
"EU's Impact in Our Daily Life in 100 Areas," a handbook that aims to explain the concrete effects of Turkey's alignment with the European Union, was published through cooperation of the Secretariat General for EU Affairs and Open Society Foundation.
"We strongly believe that this publication, with its clear and uncomplicated language, will be useful in bringing clear explanations to the EU basics and to prevent the information pollution on the Union," Egemen Bağış, Minister for EU Affairs and Chief Negotiator, said in his foreword in the book. The book gives concrete examples of the contributions of the EU accession process to the daily life of Turkish citizens from food safety to women's rights and from basic rights to agriculture.
