CALL FOR COLLABORATION WITH S&G(as Sending and/or Coordinating)

GK_Ylba_Kart

Dear EVS Coordinator of Hosting Organisation,

We would like to give a brief information about the Project that we would like to collaborate with you. The idea of the project was born in training which was held in Romania as a product of the promoters’ presentations and the follow-up discussion. By talking about issues which are presented from different countries and sharing ideas in order to overcome issues, a common ground was found and the idea of an EVS project which brings international impact and establishes a base for further projects was born. The name of the project occured as the

 “Different Vision for 2012”

was chosen to represent an international get-together tool for young people. Furthermore, it marks the idea of real change, the way the promoters see their mission for 2012 - to offer a different vision for young people who come from different countries, representing different political regions and international institutions, to work in cooperation for developing mutual understanding and searching for solutions in order to overcome issues on freedom of movement of people, xenophobia and prejudices. The context of the project regards the youth information circulation at local (host organization) and international level. By creating an international e-magazine the project brings young people from different countries and their ideas together. The Project will allow promoters to create a network and solid partnership because of having a common publication which consist of partners news. The EVS Volunteer stands in the center of this context as the initiator of this network and provider of the Youth in Action permanent priorities as follows: European Citizenship will be presented by informative campaigns and presentations of EVS and YIA in local venues and as a part of the project. Participation of young people is the main idea of creating the e-magazine entitled “YouTHelegraph”, firstly because it will be created by the EVS Volunteer with the support of the hosting and sending organizations’ teams and then because it will provide youth information about the promoters and the range of their NGO partners. This activity will provide sustainable support for present and future youth activities, partnerships and projects on international level. Cultural diversity regards the implementation of various art workshops which will include the exchange of creativity and arts and crafts traditions as known to the EVS Volunteer and participants from the host country. The volunteer will work in cooperation not only with members of the host organization, but also with members of other local NGOs, some which have different cultural background, origin and religious believes. By the inclusion of Turkish volunteers in the project the local community, which practically represents the European Union will get to know the opinion of a representative of the Turkish youth community and this will create opportunities for creating mutual understanding and solidarity for the issues of young people and the way people from both side of the union’s border see it. This will help young people to think about enlargement of EU and motivate them to think about future of Europe. The fact that the present EVS is long-term enlarges the possible impact on solidarity and tolerance among young people as most of the important activities in the project (e-magazine’s editions, art workshops, meetings, seminars, movie productions, presentations on different topics) are repetitive, cooperative and widely promoted in an international and diverse community. We strongly believe in that; The European Voluntary Service (EVS) provides youngsters with the unique chance to express their personal commitment through unpaid and full-time voluntary activities in a foreign country within or outside the EU. In this way, it seeks to develop solidarity, mutual understanding and tolerance among young people, thus contributing to reinforcing social cohesion in the European Union and to promoting young people's active citizenship.

We would like to work in collaboration with you in Sending and/or Coordinating Turkish Volunteers in EVS, if you are interested in hosting our volunteers and having solid partnership.

My EVS Story

E-mail Print PDF

You know, everybody have had one dream about one country when they were children. It is always about America\Newyork.But mine was Greece-Athens.And when I said to my friends, they were laughing about me and telling ‘’you are so stupid because Greece is the country most near to Turkey’’But I knew that Greece was inviting me!Maybe cause of my grandmother because she is a Greek,or maybe cause of my Greek books about Greek mitology.I don’t know why but one day in Athens and especially in Akropoli I wanted to say to Gods ‘ ear with respect ‘’Hello now i’m also in the presence of you’’SG-GK

After the Advanced Planning Visit in Romania.

Memories after the Advanced Planning Visit in Romania.

Me and Özgür from Youth Caravan, after overcoming the obstacles (like visa) we arrived to city Timisioara,Romania .Two people from Romania,Sandra and Bogdan were waiting for us with the cards having our name on it. In the very begining, I felt quite strange becuase I had no idea about the people and accomodation . After our arrival to airport, they took us their town called Sannicolau Mare. It was a little cold but it was very foggy in Romania it took one hour to go to Sannicolau Mare from Timisoara. The way to town was full of landfills, little houses near the road. After we went to our rooms, which are quite nice. Our hosts were very polite and helpful, which made me think like “nothing left to fear”.
